Sorry for the late response professor

I think James gets annoyed because he felt that he was trying to talk and the interviewer kept interrupting him with questions and also i think he got annoyed because on top of the fact that he was being interrupted the interviewer was thinking that James said something else

Karina's Archives post #5

As i read this interview i saw the interviewer was trying to find out james cerofeci's experience at his job. james explained that he got exploited and he was being discriminated againts and on top of that they were cutting wages. it seemed as if james got a bit annoyed when the interviewer asked him if all the workers didnt like the wages being cut. james responded by saying "I didnt say that all the workers didnt like it, i dont kno what they did." to me it sounded like he was a bit annoyed there. it seems that james didnt have such a great experience at the job and he was the one who got the workers together to protest about their wages being cut. i feel that james experience relates alot to what we have been talking about in class. we have spoken about unemployment and also about low wages and this is how it relates to james experience because he was having problems with pay at his job.

karina's post # 4

There are quite a few ways in which economic inequality affects Americans or different class backgrounds. "The fact is that vast incomes inequality inevitably brings vast social inequality in its train. And this social inequality isn't just a matter of envy and insults. It has real, negative consequences for the way people live in this country." ( Confronting inequality, Paul Krugman, p.324)

According to Krugman on page 325, millions of middle class families buy houses that they cannot really afford, taking on more mortgage debt than they can safely handle, because they are desperate to send their children to a good school. I feel that economic inequality does not only affect Americans in the fact that many wealthy people insult or put down the poor, but another problem they face is that they sometimes become homeless, sick, and hungry.

Karina's Blog # 3

As i was reading Paul Krugman's essay, i came across the answer to his question about "why should we care about high and rising inequality?" His answer was that "One reason to care about high and rising inequality is the matter of living standards." He stated that the lack of clear economic progress for lower - and middle - income families is in itself an important reason to seek a more equal distribution of income. I do agree with Paul Krugman's answer because due to all of this inequality, is why lower class and middle class get less benefits than the rich. The lower class is affected greatly by this inequality because they struggle with their medical needs and with their other needs such as, food, clothing, and shelter. sometimes they even struggle because they do not get good enough medical attention as they need. I feel inequality is unfair.

Just to let you know professor i hope this blog was right because I kind of did not understand it very well, so I dont know if I did it correctly.

karina's paragraph from draft

"It's stressful, "she says. They push you to the limit. They just want to see how much they can get away with without having to hire someone else." Said 22 year old Jennifer McLaughlin as stated in Karen Olsson's essay.

This is the beginning part of my essay and I took this quote from Karen Olsson's essay "Up Against Wal-Mart" because i feel that it makes the start of my essay different from others that I have started before. It makes it sound more interesting and makes the reader want to get into reading more of the essay. One thing that i feel i should do to make this paragraph better is add more detail more like expand my paragraph. The reason i feel that starting my essay with a quote would make it more interesting is because I have seen other essays that have started with a quote which gives the reader an idea of what the essay is going to be about and it will be made less boring than it would be if I started my essay by saying I will be writing about this topic.
